Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has said the side has hit rock bottom after a slump in form over the past 10 days.
Los Blancos lost 4-3 at home to Schalke on Tuesday night, but scraped through to the quarter final of the Champions League 5-4 overall thanks to that positive display in Germany three weeks ago.
Not much has gone right for the club since, with Los Blancos losing the lead at the top of La Liga thanks to a disappointing draw at home to Villarreal and a defeat to Athletic Bilbao.
Speaking after the game, the club captain admitted the side was not in a good place, but had to remain positive about the rest of the campaign.
“It’s true we have hit rock bottom in a most resounding way. But the positive is that we will be in the draw next Friday. When that draw is made we will forget what has happened over the past 10 days – they have been dramatic. We must think about tomorrow, we cannot look back, nor dwell on the 22 successive wins [earlier in the season] or anything else we have achieved,” he stated.
And he admitted he wasn’t pleased with his own performance on the night, saying: “I believe a goalkeeper is always to blame [after conceding four times]. This was not one of my best games but it’s not the moment to think about myself.”
I think the saint is just getting old why shouldn’t Carlo try Navas?
