Real Madrid right back Daniel Carvajal has said none of the Los Blancos players were offended by Gerard Pique’s comments while celebrating Barcelona’s treble success.

At the club’s celebration following their Champions League win, the Spain defender thanked Kevin Roldan – the singer who performed at Cristiano Ronaldo’s 30th birthday party – for starting the route to success.

It was a clear reference to his former Manchester United team mate’s controversial party that took place in February just hours after Los Blancos had lost 4-0 to Atletico de Madrid. Many of the Madrid players in attendance were criticised by the media ad fans, while it was seen as a turning point that swing the pendulum in Barcelona’s favour as they went on to win the league, Copa del Rey and Champions League.

But speaking to reporters while in international duty, Carvajal said no offense was taken. He went on to congratulate Barcelona for achieving the treble.

“I don’t find Pique’s words offensive. I congratulate Barcelona for this season’s results,” the defender said.

The other Real players in the Spain squad, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Isco, refused to comment to journalists whether Pique’s mocking had annoyed them. Spain take on Costa Rica in a friendly on Thursday.
