Real Madrid and Spain Under-21 forward Alvaro Morata has said he may have to quit the club if the Spanish giants sign another striker this summer.
The young forward has seen his chances at the Santiago Bernabeu limited due to the plethora of talent already on the books at the club, and he could find himself way down the pecking order still if Los Blancos secure another attacker in the transfer window.
Gareth Bale, Robert Lewandowsky, Edison Cavani and Luis Suarez are just some of the players having been linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks.
Speaking to Cadena Ser, Morata said: “It depends on the circumstances whether I will stay at Madrid’s first team. If another striker is brought in, I will have to think about what’s best for me and consider leaving the club.”
He added that if he were to leave Real Madrid, he would prefer to move abroad rather than stay in Spain.
Morata, who has a contract for another two years, has been the star of the European Under-21 Championships, scoring three goals in as many games for Spain so far.
