This week we saw Raphael Varane renewing his contract, but in the precedent days we saw Marcelo, Benzema, Isco or Llorente at Santiago Bernabéu stadium, taking a picture with the president. Now Florentino Pérez has his photo with Marco Asensio, the new raising star, who signed a new contract until 2023 with a release clause anti-sheiks.
Obviously Asensio wants to spend many years at Madrid: “It’s a very important day for me. It’s a proud renewing the contract. This year I started very well and my goals are the same, winning many titles”.
The winger is receiving kind words from many people, also Cristiano Ronaldo: “It’s a joy receiving this flattering words from Cristiano Ronaldo and I don’t think about winning the Ballon d’Or. I’m young and everything will go step by step”.
His favourite goal was the one scored in the final of the Champions League. Besides, he said that he’s very comfortable with the coach: “I feel important at Madrid. I’m in a good moment and when Zidane gives me minutes, I’ll try to take advantage”.
Asensio also spoke about his references: “When I was little my idol was Zidane and now I have him as a coach. About my colleagues, Cristiano Ronaldo surprises me because his ambition. After winning everything, he wants more and convey it to the others”.
Despite his great quality, he can improve: “I can improve a lot yet. I’m young and every year I have to grow up and improve many things”.
The Spaniard also spoke about the rotations made by Zidane: “The coach knows how he has to treat me. I have my personal goals. My goal is always playing, but there are more players. Right now there are others with more ranking. I have to go little by little, I’m young. I’m want to go year by year, but I’m very happy here”, he finished.
