Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has rubbished reports the club has reached an agreement with Italian side Napoli to sell striker Gonzalo Higuain.
The forward, who has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu for another three years, has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Cheslea and Napoli all summer long.
And reports emerged on Sunday night the Seria A side, who have already signed Jose Callejon and Raul Albiol from Los Blancos in recent weeks, has seen a 35 million euro offer accepted.
Rafa Benitez’s new side are flush with cash having sold star striker Edison Cavani to PSG last week for 63 million euros.
Speaking after Madrid’s 6-0 friendly win over Bournemouth, Ancellotti said reports of an imminent transfer for Higuain were rubbish.
He stated: “Higuain to Napoli a done deal? Not true, I don’t have any news about this. We still have to speak about Higuain as a Real Madrid player at this point. I spoke to him this week. He is a Real Madrid player and until we have news we have to consider him as a Real Madrid player and I would like him to stay with us.”
