Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is to begin contact talks with the club, according to reports.
Spanish sports paper AS said the Frenchman, who is under contact for another two years, will begin talks next month.
Benzema, who has spent four years at the Santiago Bernabeu since signing from Lyon, has been linked with moves away from the club in the summer, with Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus all rumoured to be interested.
But the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli has catapulted the 25-year-old to the main striker role at the club.
Los Blancos president is known to be a big fan of Benzema and wants him to commit his long-term future to the club.
Benzema scored for Real in the 2-1 win over Real Betis on Sunday in the club’s opening La Liga fixture of the new campaign.
