Real Madrid are the highest scorers when playing at home across the big five European leagues so far this season.
In their seven league matches to date at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos have scored 23 goals against visiting opposition. In the past two matches alone, they have netted 12 – seven against Sevilla and five against Real Sociedad.
On average, Carlo Ancelotti’s men score just over three goals a game at home in La Liga, just ahead of rivals Barcelona, and Champions League runners’ up Borussia Dortmund – both of which have scored 21 goals in their league matches at home.
Los Merengues started their home campaign with a 2-1 win over Real Betis. Other wins have followed against Athletic Bilbao (3-1), Getafe (4-1) and Malaga (2-0). They have failed to score infront of their own support on one occasion; a painful 1-0 defeat at the hands of city rivals Atletico de Madrid – their first loss in La Liga against them since 1999.
Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Manchester City also appear on the list of high scoring teams when at home, with 20 goals each apiece.
