Real Madrid have made Los Blancos legend Raul Gonzalez an offer to return to his life club, Spanish newspaper El Mundo has revealed.

The former Real striker has recently retired after his contract with Qatar side Al Sadd expired last June, although he has not officially announced it. He’s been in talks with the Santiago Bernabeu club since the Champions League final in Lisbon, and there are various options for his return.

Miguel Pardeza, the former Sports Director, has left the club, leaving a vacancy that could fit Raul’s characteristics. However, the Spaniard is seeking a managing career and could prefer a coaching job at Real Madrid’s youth teams.

The legendary number 7 has received offers from various Major League Soccer clubs, but he is determined to put an end to his playing career, since the American league won’t start until March.

In his 16 seasons at Real Madrid, Raul played a total 741 games, scoring 323 goals and becoming the top scorer in the history of the club.

  1. I like that initiative taken by the board of directors to offer him a position in the team. Without knowing him personally, but having the seeing playing,
I believe he is a humble man.

  2. That’s a sweat idea. Coaching the youth team has the capacity to encourage them to perform optimally because of Raul’s legendary status at Real Madrid. It has the potential of enriching the senior team.
