Gareth Bale’s agent has said the player is going nowhere this summer despite the interest of Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea.
The Welshman enjoyed a spectacular first season at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring the winning goal in the Copa del Rey final and the crucial second goal for Los Blancos in the Champions League final in Lisbon.
But he has found the second season tougher at the Santiago Bernebeu and has come under more scrutiny from the fans and media alike. Those critics got louder this week after Bale put in a subdued display in the loss to Juventus in the Champions League semi-final first leg.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Jonathan Barnett said Bale would be going nowhere this summer as he’s already at the best club in the world.
“Why would he look to go elsewhere? Real Madrid are the number one club in the world. There’s always interest in him – but as far as we are concerned he’ll be at Real Madrid next summer,” he stated.
Manchester United are thought to be keen on Bale with the future of Angel di Maria in doubt following a disappointing season at Old Trafford. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho also believed to be keen on raiding his former club.
