Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has said his is confident of having a successful future at the club and is happy that Carlo Ancelotti is keeping tabs on his progress.

The 20-year-old striker was in fine form for Spain in the European Under-21 Championship this summer, and has carried that on into the new season, scoring five goals in his last two games with the national side.

He was promoted to the Real first team squad this season and has made one appearance in La Liga so far, but told AS he is confident about what the future holds, despite rumours emerging Los Blancos will attempt to sign another striker in the January transfer window.

Morata said: “I’m sure Ancelotti will have seen the Spain Under-21 games and kept a close eye on me, Jese (Rodriguez), (Daniel) Carvajal and [Fernando] Pacheco.

“I have no doubt that he has seen us play and is taking us into consideration for his next team selection. It’s up to us to keep on working.

“People are always talking about Madrid signing other attackers, but I will just try and do my best to show that I am good enough to play for Madrid and so will Jese.”
