Former Real Madrid and England manager Fabio Capello has said Carlo Ancelotti is a better boss of Los Blancos than Jose Mourinho ever was because he is not a divisive character.
Mourinho spent three years at the Santiago Bernabeu but left in acrimonious circumstances having fallen out with his own players, plenty of opposition players and managers and having made a few enemies in the Spanish FA too.
Although he managed to win the league and Copa del Rey, the reign of the self-styled Special One is widely considered a failure because he didn’t land the Champions League trophy.
Ancelotti replaced the Portuguese and immediately showed him how it’s done, winning the tournament – the long-awaited Decima in his first season in charge. To add to that, Los Blancos also won the Copa del Rey.
And speaking to Marca, Capello said his compatriot has done a much better job than his predecessor.
“I think he is a long-term coach, the perfect coach for Real Madrid. His style is working well with a great club that expects great football. Carlo is part of the team. Before, the coach was against everyone because Mourinho liked to be the catalyst for everything,” he told the newspaper.
