Carlo Ancelotti has told his bosses at PSG he wants to leave the French champions to take over at Real Madrid, according to sporting director Leonardo.
The Italian manager met with Leonardo along with PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi today to express his desire to replace Jose Mourinho in the Bernabeu dugout.
Speaking to French newspaper Le Parisien, Leonardo said the club wanted to keep Ancelotti and for him to oversee a project to make them the top force in European football.
But he added they had listened to the manager’s wishes, although no decision has been made.
Leonardo said: “Carlo asked to leave for Madrid, but we want him to stay. There was no firm decision, we listened to Carlo. We have to consider everything for a bit.”
