Arsenal are ready to make a 21-million-euro bid to sign Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev, Brisith daily Metro has revealed.
The 25-year-old is showing a great state of form in Los Blancos pre-season and he has caught the interest of several European giants.
Liverpool were also willing to make a 20-million-euro offer to bring the Russia international to Anfield Road.
Cheryshev had a brilliant season at Villarreal, and has return from his loan to complete the pre-season with Los Merengues. The club’s directors wanted to send him on loan again this season, but his good performances in the International Champions Cup could have changed Rafa Benitez’s mind.
The Real manager is very happy with Cheryshev, and is considering to keep him and make him play both as a back-up winger and as back-up left-back.
In a poll conducted by Real Madrid news website Defensa Central, 47% of fans said Cheryshev should stay as Marcelo’s substitute, meaning that Fabio Coentrao would have to leave the club.
Given his good performances, it seems highly unlikely that Los Blancos will choose to sell the footballer, who could have a bright future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
