Daniel Carvajal has said he can’t imagine Iker Casillas wearing another club shirt other than Real Madrid’s.
The club captain’s future in the Spanish capital is looking increasingly uncertain as David de Gea’s switch from Manchester United to the Santiago Bernabeu looks more likely. Reports this week in Spain said Casillas has spoken to new boss Rafa Benitez and the agreed he could find a new club if he won’t be the number one.
Casillas has two years remaining on his current contract and would be due a payoff of around 14 million euros should he leave Real.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of La Roja’s friendly against Costa Rica, Carvajal said it is hard to imagine the World Cup winner ever leaving.
“Neither or anyone else can imagine Iker Casillas in any other shirt than Real Madrid’s,” he commented.
Speaking about his own situation at international level, the right back said he is happy to keep giving boss Vicente del Bosque a selection headache.
“If I’m here it’s because of the work I’ve done. Those who know me, know I’m going to try to make things difficult for Del Bosque. It’s a reward and an honour to be here with these teammates,” he told reporters.
you imagine it oh…Let him go if he can’t be the 2nd choice…
