Carlo Ancelotti believes there is everything to play for still in La Liga and the Real Madrid players will be giving their all until the very end.
Los Blancos host Granada this afternoon in the early kick off and need to respond to the damaging defeat to Barcelona last time out that saw the Catalans move four points clear at the top of the table with 10 games to go.
The Italian boss will be looking for his players to also put in a convincing display to quieten the growing noise of discontent and disapproval in recent weeks, with fans unhappy with the performances in general and with certain players such as Iker Casillas and Gareth Bale.
Speaking to the media ahead of the match, Ancelotti stated: “We’re convinced that it’s all to play for in La Liga and that we have to try to win every match we can. The team are really up for it, and the fans are too. The team are in really good shape now, fresh and up for it. We come into this period in better phsical shape than last year, as practically the whole squad is available and only Pepe has a minor problem, which he’s going to get over quickly.”
Ancelotti also went on to stated the importance of the home crowd between now and the end of the campaign and urged the fans to create a positive atmosphere.
“The fans understand that it’s an important moment and the atmosphere at the Bernabéu will help us if we play well. Our objective is to play well and repeat the good match we played against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. We showed that the team were more compact and that’s our idea of play,” he commented.
