Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said his side must improve their defending after watching Los Blancos secure a late win over Real Betis in their first match of the new La Liga campaign.
Los Blancos conceded an early goal before Karim Benzema and Isco secured the three points.
But Ancelotti was unimpressed with the team’s defending and warned goalkeeper Diego Lopez and the back four that they risk losing their place in the side.
The former PSG manager said: “We have to improve. We created chances to score but we had problems in defence. Today I decided to choose Diego Lopez. I don’t know who is going to play in the next game.”
Ancelotti was full of praise for Isco though, who set up the first goal as well as scoring the winner on his debut.
“Isco gave it all in this game. He scored a fantastic goal,” stated the 54-year-old.
