Daniel Carvajal wants to stay one more year at Bayer Leverkusen and compete in the Champions League with the German team, according to Spanish website Grada 360.
The right back, who grew up at Real Madrid but was transferred last year to Leverkusen in a 6 million euros deal, has been reported to arrive at Bernabeu this summer, as there is a clause in his contract that allows Real buying him back for 8 million.
The Spaniard has always shown his desire to return and triumph at his childhood club, but after yesterday Bayer secured a spot in next season’s Champions League, he told German journalists that he wishes to play that competition with Leverkusen, according to Grada 360.
Carvajal has performed brilliantly this year, being nominated to appear on the best 11 of the Bundesliga 2012-2013. He is happy at Leverkusen and feels like one more year in Germany would provide him the necessary experience to succeed at Real Madrid, sources said.
