Sami Khedira is set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu as Real Madrid have decided to get rid of the German international, following the player’s decision of not signing a contract extension with Los Blancos.
Khedira’s contract expires in June 2015, meaning that he would be free to join any other club in less than a year. Thus, Los Merengues are seeking to find a buyer this summer rather than seeing him go for free next year.
Madrid’s intentions were confirmed in the UEFA Super Cup final, as Carlo Ancelotti didn’t include Khedira in the squad for the match.
Thus, Chelsea and Arsenal have seen their hopes of a Khedira deal renewed, and both are set to make a bid for the 27-year-old.
Arsene Wenger has claimed he is not interested in signing Khedira, yet the Gunners are favourites to land the former Stuttgart man. However, Jose Mourinho knows him well from his three years at Real Madrid, and would be eager to add him to his squad, since his only defensive midfielder, Jon Obi Mikel, has been rumoured to leave the club this summer.
Real are asking for 25 million euros to let Khedira go, but they could settle for a lower amount. The main obstacle for his exit is his high salary. The German midfielder earns around three million euros per season, and he wants an increase.
i wish sami the best !!!
