Real Madrid full-back Daniel Carvajal has thanked Carlo Ancelotti for the chances, but admits concern at the growing injury list.
The 21-year-old played the whole 90 minutes in Los Blanco’s 5-0 thrashing of Almeria, where both Cristiano Ronaldo and Sami Khedira sustained injuries; the latter proving the more serious.
“We’re continually improving and getting better every day. It’s true that Barcelona is winning but it’s up to us to keep adding up three at a time,” Carvajal told Real Madrid’s website.
“We have the players to try out a lot of systems and the scoreboard reflects that. It was a good match and we kept a clean sheet”.
Carvajal returned to Spain after an excellent season in Germany with Bayern Leverkusen and he’s seen plenty of action under Ancelotti.
“The coach has given me a lot of confidence from day one. I’ve had a lot of minutes and I try to do my best so that he continues to trust me.”
On the double injury, the Spaniard claimed: “I think sustaining a dead-leg in that area hurts quite a bit and he [Ronaldo] went off as a precaution.
“Unfortunately we have several injured players. I want to send a special hug to Sami and I’m sure that he’ll be back with us soon.
“We have a big squad but we hope the injured players recover soon”. he concluded.
