Real Madrid and Barcelona’s dominance in La Liga makes the championship boring overall, according to Atletico de Madrid manager Diego Simeone.
The Argentine boss guided his side to third place in La Liga last season, and saw his side lift the Copa del Rey after beating Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in May.
But asked about whether the Rojiblancos could push on and challenge the top two for a tilt at the title this season, Simeone was emphatic in his response.
“No, I absolutely do not,” he said, before adding “Madrid and Barcelona play a different league. This is a boring championship.”
The Atletico boss added the situation would not change until there is a more even distribution of television rights and the payments received from that.
