The Toffees a striker light now having seen former Barcelona forward Samuel Eto’o – who was on Real’s books as a youngster – leave for Sampdoria this week.
And Spaniard Martinez is keen to add Jese to his squad as Everton look to have a strong second half to the season after a disappointing campaign at Goodison Park so far.
Marca and AS say Everton may find it tough to persuade Carlo Ancelotti to part with the young forward as he sees him as an important part of the squad who will play a role as back up to Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema as the season hots up and the race for La Liga and Champions League gets more intense.
The 21-year-old has made seven appearances for Los Blancos this campaign having recovered from a serious knee injury in March last year. Prior to his injury he had impressed many with his vibrant displays and there was even some talk that his late surge could see him called up to the Spanish squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
