Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said he is confident the current squad at the Santiago Bernabeu can lead the club to more glory.
Los Blancos enjoyed a fine season last year, securing the club’s 10th European Cup, and also picking up the Copa del Rey along the way.
Despite the signings of James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Javier Hernandez this summer, the European giants got off to a poor start in La Liga, losing two of their first three games. They put things right at the weekend with a huge 8-2 win over Deportivo La Coruna.
And speaking at the club’s general assembly, Perez said all the elements are in place in the squad now for more success on the field.
“We face this season with a squad of excellent players. We have the utmost confidence placed in them, the coach and the coaching staff,” he stated.
“At this club there is never a time for complacency. We are demanding of ourselves and we always have one challenge: to excel. La Decima was for all Madridistas and our unity is our greatest strength,” he added.
And he continued: “2014 has been a very good year, as it is the first time in our history we claimed a double of a European Cup and a Copa del Rey title, but now we want more.”
I believe the 1st 2games Madrid played were mere teething problems associated with great clubs whenever new super stars were added to the team. But now, things have started looking up and assuredly, more are to come. Well done boys!!!!!!
