Gareth Bale was the star player in Real Madrid’s final game of the 2017-18 La Liga season as the former Spurs striker scored the opener in the 2-2 draw with Villareal . Bale scored his fourth goal in his last five games and impressed everyone including manager Zinedine Zidane .
Following the game Zidane heaped praise on Bale saying , “Bale has never given up. He’s training well and the only thing that’s changed is that he’s now scoring goals, as he has done in the last few games.
“I’m pleased with his performance and what he brings to the team. Nothing has changed. The only difference is that he’s been scoring of late.”
The Welsh international who remains Real Madrid’s record signing has proved his fitness and his form and now looks certain to start in the UEFA Champions League Final in Kiev on Saturday .
Spanish newspaper Diario Gol is reporting that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is determined to cash in on Bale’s recent good form and has raised his price for the winger to 150 million euros !!
With Liverpool reportedly wanting 200million euros for Mohamed Salah then the sale of the injury prone Bale during the summer transfer window could be the catalyst for some huge moves in the transfer market . Salah has enjoyed a fantastic season with Liverpool and remains the Blancos number one target but the return of Neymar to Spain from Paris St Germain is also considered a strong possibility.
The final game of the La Liga season saw Real Madrid lose a two goal lead with Villareal scoring twice in the last twenty minutes of the game as the focus of the Madrid players was lost .
