Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain confirmed one of the season’s worst kept secrets last night after admitting he will leave the club.
The Argentinean striker – who scored his 121st goal for Los Blancos in the 4-2 win over Osasuna – said he wants a new challenge.
Higuain, who has been with Real Madrid for seven years, has been strongly linked with a move to Italian champions Juventus or to Premier League side Arsenal in recent weeks.
Speaking after the match, he said: “I feel that my time here has come to an end and I want a change of scenery.
“It was a decision I have been thinking about for some time. It’s tough, it wasn’t easy to make, but I will go to another club to seek new challenges. “
