Iker Casillas will leave Real Madrid in the next few days after reaching an agreement to end his contract with the club, Spanish public television TVE has claimed.
After spending 25 years at Real, Casillas will play for another team for the first time in his life, although he hasn’t made a decision on what his next destination will be.
Casillas had one year left on his contract and he wanted to stay, but the critics and the fact that Los Blancos will sign David de Gea have made him change his mind.
Florentino Perez wants him to have the farewell he deserves after having won three Champions Leagues, five leagues and two Copa del Rey for Los Merengues. He might be planning to organize a homage at the Santiago Bernabeu or even a tribute match.
Casillas has received an offer from Besiktas and several European giants have shown an interest in signing him, such as Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City. However, the goalkeeper confessed a few months ago that he would like to play in the Major League Soccer, so he might be heading to the United States this summer.
Good bye Iker and thanks for everything.
Thank you Iker.
