Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has welcomed the arrival of Gareth Bale at the club and believes the Welshman is the final piece in the jigsaw to help Los Blancos win silverware this year.
The two players were at the launch of the third kit on Thursday afternoon, along with Brazilian left back Marcelo, and Benzema took time out to talk about the team’s newest additions.
Ahead of the team’s trip to Villarreal in La Liga, 25-year-old Benzema said: “He is a really good player and a really nice guy. Hopefully he will be successful here – he can help us win many titles.”
Real are looking to get back to winning ways this season after missing out on the big prizes last year. They finished second in La Liga, lost the final of the Copa del Rey, and were knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage.
Bale, who moved to the Santiago Bernabeu in a 91 million euro deal at the end of the transfer window, will play some part in the match at the Madrigal, although it is not known whether it will be from the bench or from the start.
