Louis Van Gaal: Real Madrid haven’t met de Gea valuation

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has said Real Madrid target David de Gea is staying at the Old Trafford side for now as the La Liga giants haven’t met the valuation for the player yet.

Los Blancos are though to be keen on signing de Gea still despite having already brought in Kiko Casilla from Espanyol.

So far this summer, United have played hardball and want around 30 million for de Gea even though he has just a year left on his deal at the Premier League side. Real are reportedly unwilling to pay more than 20 million euros for his signature to bring his back to the Spanish capital, where he previously played for Atletico de Madrid.

De Gea was ruled out of the season opener against Tottenham Hotspur by his manager because he’s not in the right frame of mind.

And van Gaal gave reporters an update on the situation. He stated: “We are asking money and they have to pay money. In recent years Manchester United have paid a lot of money on players and not received a lot for our players. He’s the best goalkeeper we’ve had for the last three years, I believe.

“The last two years he was nominated by the fans as the best player at the club. Do you think the coach wants him to leave? I don’t think so. The player still has to manage this situation.”

  1. I am a die hard fan of the Real Madrid. But i honestly think that Los Blancos should consider the interests of the player because if this situation doesn’t get a solution soon, i am afraid that it can later backfire against Real Madrid. We are dealing with a big club, we can not expect to sign their best player like we are signing a player of a second division league. Don Perez has to be realistic and accept a decent negociation. The player is valuable and still young. I understand he only have one year left on his contract but we have to also understand the position of Man U loosing their best player considering the enormous security he represents in the team.

    • i disagree. I too am a Real Madrid fan n I just dont see the logic behind United’s argument!” We have paid a lot so you too should pay a lot” is a stupid argument! Why would Real pay 30 million or the United evaluation of 40mil when they can get him for free next year? “Real Madrid can afford it” is not an excuse for over spending. There is no doubting De Gea’s calibre, but we have 2 very good keepers already at the club and we should give Navas a chance. Why we should pay out of the nose for a player simply because United wants us to is beyond me. As for United “getting their due for developing him” shit, they got more than his due when se saved their ass for 2 seasons straight! Also, they should have pushed for a contract extension well in advance! They tried to play him cheap n last year I guess Madrid was already in touch so United lost out on him. Its their fault! Tomorrow Van Gaal will sat that Juve should pay United a lyearly levy because Pogba came from United gor a pittance!Thats their fault! Not Juve’s!
