Alvaro Morata has said scoring in front of the home fans at the Santiago Bernabeu is the best feeling in the world.
The young forward came on as a late substitute in Los Blancos’ 5-0 win over Rayo Vallecano, and he grabbed the fifth goal – a stunning curling effort from 20 yards out. After the game, the striker was keen to thank Madridistas for their patience and support for him this season.
“It was a good goal and we’ve won. Now we have to carry on fighting. This year I’ve not been scoring regularly so it’s always good to score at the Santiago Bernabéu in front of our crowd, who I owe a lot to for all the love they’ve shown me. One always wants to play as much as they can and I will work to help the side,” he said.
When asked about the situation in La Liga, where Los Blancos sit third in the bale behind Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid, Morata said the players will keep on fighting for every point.
“We will not give up. We know that if we want to win the league we have to win every game. We have spoken between ourselves and whilst there’s a chance to carry on fighting, Real Madrid will be there. We have a great side and we will all pull in the same direction to try and win,” he stated.
