Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard has revealed that star striker Cristiano Ronaldo is always willing to give advice to him.
The Norwegian wonderkid joined Los Blancos in January, choosing the Santiago Bernabeu side over a long queue of clubs desperate to sign him. Since his move to the Spanish capital, the attacking midfielder has largely featured for the Real Madrid Castilla outfit as he adjusts to a new country, language and style of football.
But he had already made his debut for the club, replacing Ronaldo for the final 30 minutes in the 7-3 demolition of Getafe back in May.
Odegaard also trains from time to time with the first team squad as boss Rafa Benitez looks to speed up his progression.
Speaking to reporters, the youngster revealed that the club’s all time leading scorer is always willing to give him advice on how to improve as a player.
“We train together from time to time so I try to learn as much as possible from him. He’s given me lots of tips. There are a lot of things you can pick up from a player as good as him,” he said.
Last week, Ronaldo picked out Odergaard as one of his top five young players to watch in world football. Asked what he made of that high praise, the Norwegian stated:”It’s great to hear that from the best player in the world.”
