Real Madrid continue making history after beating Club América (0-2) in the semifinals of the FIFA Clubs World Cup in Yokohama (Japan). Los Blancos will face Kashima Antlers in the final on Sunday to win the third trophy of the year. Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, both in the injury time, scored the decisive goals.
It was a very tough game for Real Madrid, as it was expected. América pressured well and put Los Blancos in trouble but Zidane’s side was always better and they had chances to close the game before the last minutes. Especially Lucas Vázquez and Luka Modric played a great game, although we could see some of the players tired and getting used to Japan. The first half was very tight but Los Blancos had the better chances, especially a header by Cristiano Ronaldo who hit the post. The goal arrived in the last minute, when Kroos made a great assist to Benzema.
With the difference in the scoresheet, Real Madrid could score many goals in the second half. América players were tired and Los Blancos found a lot of gaps in the counter attack. However, they missed some amazing chances, especially Cristiano Ronaldo, who could have scored with a header with the goalkeeper already beaten. The second goal arrived in the 93rd minute, when the game was already over. Cristiano Ronaldo finally found his goal.
