Real Madrid have loaned Denis Cheryshev to Valencia until the end of the season. Valencia have published an official statement announcing that the player has signed a contract until June 30th.
The Russia international has arrived to Valencia and will undergo medical tomorrow before completing his first training session under Gary Neville.
Cheryshev has not played a single minute since Zinedine Zidane became the new manager, and yesterday the Frenchman confessed they were looking to loan him for the rest of the season so he could get minutes of action.
Spanish press revealed later that Sevilla were the main candidates to land the 25-year-old. However, Valencia have finally succeeded in signing the winger they already pursued until the last day of the last summer transfer market -when Rafa Benitez finally decided not to let Cheryshev leave.
Villarreal and Liverpool have also sought the Russian’s signing. Florentino Perez ruled out the possibility of sending him back to Villarreal, where Cheryshev spent last season, because he blames them for the Copa del Rey elimination.
Liverpool, on the other hand, wanted the player on a permanent deal, and Perez doesn’t want to sell him until the transfer ban situation is solved.
Cheryshev’s loan contract includes a clause that prevents him from playing against Real Madrid in the second-to-last game of La Liga.
