Real Madrid defender Pepe has revealed his “love” for the club his future following speculation that he could leave Madrid this summer.
The Portuguese centre-back has been linked with a number of clubs, including Premier League outfit Manchester City.
Recently installed Citizens manager Manuel Pellegrini worked with Pepe during his time in charge of Real, and is willing to bring him to Manchester. But los Blancos president Florentino Perez has stated Pepe is not for sale.
Pepe lost his spot in the starting eleven last season to youngster Raphael Varane. However, when asked about the transfer rumours, the centre-back conffessed his “love” for Real.
“I’m a professional. They left a lot of things at the end of last season but I have a contract to fulfill,” he said.
“I’m talking to the president [Florentino Perez] and my representatives to see what will happen”, Pepe added. “I have a contract, I love the club and I have great affection for the people”, he concluded.
