Rafa Benitez is a great manager who will lead Real Madrid to plenty of success, according to midfielder Casemiro.
The midfielder spoke about working under the new boss shortly after putting pen-to-paper on a new deal that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2021.
In his spell at the club, the Brazilian has played under three managers – briefly under Jose Mourinho when he signed in January 2013 on loan. He then spent a year under Carlo Ancelotti, winning the Copa del Rey and Champions League in 2014 before being sent out on loan to Porto last season.
The 23-year-old returned to the Spanish capital in the summer and is ready to fight for his place in the side this season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Casemiro hailed his new boss saying he is a ‘great manager’.
He stated: “I learned a lot, also by working with Mourinho and with Ancelotti. Now with Benitez, I am sure that it will be an incredible year and I am going to continue working to play more and more. I am very happy.
“He is a great manager. He always wants his players to give their best, whether in training or in games. He likes people to approach things seriously and we are on the right path.”
