Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has said he is paying no attention to rumours Premier League side Chelsea are interested in signing him.
The 21-year-old endured a frustrating season at the Santiago Bernabeu, missing a large part of the campaign through injury and failing to make the step up into the first team as a result of the outstanding form of Sergio Ramos and Pepe.
Reports in Spain and the UK have said former Los Blancos manager Jose Mourinho wants to take him to Chelsea to boost the Stamford Bridge playing squad having failed to win a trophy in his first season since returning.
It was Mourinho who signed Varane for Real Madrid from Lens back in 2011, and gave him his chance in the first team in the 2012/13 season in which the youngster ousted Pepe from the centre of defence.
But speaking to journalists about the story, Varane said he is ignoring any speculation and is concentrating on having a good World Cup with France. After the tournament is over he will sit down with Carlo Ancelotti to discuss his role in the team.
