Real Madrid might be interested in purchasing Liverpool’s Luis Suarez during the January transfer window, presumes former Los Blancos president Ramon Calderon.
However, since Liverpool during the summer has had a rough transfer struggle with Arsenal over Suarez, the Reds could continue to grab hold of him.
According to Calderon, when the Liverpool star disclosed that he wanted to leave to play Champions League Football, Real Madrid and Suarez were profoundly linked and the Spanish club could begin to think about the negotiating process to sign Suarez.
Calderon conceives that Real Madrid’s enticement manifests itself as being too excessive according to TalkSports.
“Anyone dreams of playing for Real Madrid. I’m sure Suarez would like to come,” said Calderon.
“I saw the other day he scored three goals and he’s playing very well. He’s a fantastic player. Everyone would want to have him in their team,” he added.
Calderon said he does not know if Liverpool is going to sell the Uruguayan striker and if Real Madrid has enough money to pay for him in January. He believes he could play in the Champions League since he is not playing the tournament with his club. He deems it “a good chance if Real Madrid thinks they need something like him because Benzema is not playing well and they don’t have a proper striker nowadays so maybe [now is the time].”
“There were some talks a few months ago before the summer and I don’t know what happened” he said, “maybe because of signing Bale it meant it was impossible to sign Suarez, we needed to perhaps sell another player.”
Suarez has become an outstanding player in the Premier League, scoring six goals in four games against Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and West Bromich Albion. He scored his fourth Premier League hat-trick last weekend.
