Everybody is very happy with Zinedine Zidane’s job. The supporters have finally found a coach that they can trust and so Florentino Pérez. The first feelings in this new season is that the team is going into the right direction after the difficult last season.
According to the Spanish media, the club is ready to double Zinedine Zidane’s salary this year. The French coach had a €2.7M deal last season and from now on Zidane will start to earn €5.5M. The board thinks that the French manager has earned his money after winning the 11th Champions League for the club back in June.
Since Zidane’s arrival, the atmosphere in the club has changed a lot. Rafael Benítez wasn’t able to have a good relationship with the players and lost the dressing room very early. As a consequence, the team was far away from Barcelona in La Liga and out of Copa del Rey.
Zidane didn’t have an easy job, but after some games, he was able to finish the season only one point behind Barcelona winning the last 12 games in a row in La Liga. Not to say that Zidane guided the team to win the 11th Champions League trophy at San Siro against city rivals Atlético de Madrid.
Despite his good performance, Zidane’s salary is still far away from the money received by Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian managed had a €7.5M deal when he trained Real Madrid. On the other side, Rafa Benítez had a several salary in his time spent at Santiago Bernabéu.
Zinedine Zidane will start earning his new salary in this new season. His first important game is already this Tuesday, when Real Madrid will face Sevilla in the European Supercup in Norway. It’s a good chance for Zidane to win his second trophy as Real Madrid boss.
