Real Madrid have offered 40 million euros to sign Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia, according to the player’s agent, Daniel Piconcelli.
Biglia has been a Los Blancos target since he was playing at Anderlecht. The Argentinian spent some successful years in Belgium and became one of the most sought-after defensive midfielders in Europe.
Lazio signed him in 2013 and he has been constantly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu ever since.
Piconcelli has claimed his player has been contacted by Inter Milan but Lazio have received a higher bid from Real Madrid.
“Lotito, president of Lazio, will never sell Biglia to Inter Milan because Real Madrid have already offered 40 million euros for him. Inter Milan would do well in signing a player for their midfield, an organizer with good passing skills, but Mancini doesn’t appreciate good midfielders,” Biglia’s agent has stated.
The 29-year-old could have been a good add for Los Merengues in previous seasons, but at the moment that position is perfectly covered, with Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro and Mateo Kovacic performing at a great level.
Plus, Lucas Silva and Alvaro Medran, who are on loan now, could be called upon to return to Madrid at any moment, so there seems to be little truth in Piconcelli’s words. It could all be a strategy to try to increase the player’s market value.
