Real Madrid have been officially kicked out of the Copa del Rey for fielding Denis Cheryshev against Cadiz when the player should have been serving a one-match suspension.
The Spanish Competition Committee judge, Francisco Rubio Sánchez, has ruled to disqualify Los Blancos from the competition following Cadiz’s official complain.
Thus, the Ansalusian outfit will move into the last-16 round of the cup, and the away leg at the Santiago Bernabeu will not be played.
Los Merengues have announced they are going to submit an appeal first in the Spanish Federation Appeals Committee and then, if this doesn’t work, in the Spanish Sports Tribunal (TAD).
Cheryshev was suspended for one Copa del Rey match after receiving three yellow cards last season with Villarreal. Yet, nobody at the club was aware of this, and Rafa Benitez decided to include him in the starting line-up against Cadiz. He was warned during the game and substituted the Russia international at half-time, but it was already too late.
MADRID lack administration. All depends on Pérez . where are all the staff. IT is not good to be totalitarian
Comment:Perez n his sports director should be blame bcos they supposed to hv a daily profile information of every player that comes in or goes out
