Real Madrid workers are preparing the Santiago Bernabéu stadium for the first unveilings of the summer. Theo Hernández, whose signing has still to be announced officially, and Jesús Vallejo will be the first unveilings of the season. Florentino Pérez is working to get more players on board, but some sales need to be done before.
Theo Hernández is already in Madrid, but Los Blancos have not made official the deal with the player. Real Madrid will play around €26M for the left-back, who is Atlético Madrid property. He was playing on loan at Alavés last season and he’ll be Coentrao’s replacement, who has joined Sporting Portugal.
Theo Hernández’s unveiling will be on Friday or on Monday, depending the newspaper you read. Anyhow, the French defender will part of the squad next season and he should add some quality and freshness to the left-back.
The other unveiling that will take place at the stadium will be Jesús Vallejo one. Although Real Madrid signed him two years ago from Zaragoza, the club wants to prepare a press conference and an official act for him at the stadium. Vallejo played the first season on loan at Zaragoza and last year he travelled to Germany to play at Eintracht Frankfurt. He was also part of the Spanish national team under-21 in the last European championship.
Jesús Vallejo will be the fourth full-back in the squad, replacing Pepe, who joined Besiktas this week. However, Vallejo might have a lot of minutes, especially if Danilo finally leaves the club, so Nacho could also perform as a right back.
These will be the first pieces of the new project for the season 2017/18. Real Madrid continue with their policy of signing young players who have experience in the top European leagues. Dani Ceballos could be the next one to arrive, if Real Madrid beat FC Barcelona in the race for the midfielder.
