Spanish sports TV show Tiki Taka has claimed Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Benfica’s left-back Guilherme Siqueira next June.
The program’s anchor-man Enrique Marques revealed Los Blancos and the Brazilian player have already signed a contract. “The transfer is already sealed for him to come in June. He already had a flight ticket to come to Madrid last summer, and he had even send a text message confirming he was signing for Real, but in the end it all fell apart,” Marques stated.
“Siqueira will be Marcelo’s substitute. At the moment he’s the starting left-back at Benfica, and he will become a Real Madrid player unless a catastrophe happens,” he added.
Journalist Miguel Serrano completed the news by explaining what happened to Siqueira last August 31st: “He was waiting for four hours at Benfica’s offices entrance. He was waiting for Madrid and Manchester United to reach an agreement on Fabio Coentrao’s move. However, United wanted a loan rather than a sale. Since they didn’t reach an agreement and time was running, Siqueira ended up signing for Benfica.”
The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu many times since last summer. Yet Los Merengues have also shown their interest in other left-backs, such as Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno and Valencia’s Juan Bernat.
Siqueira spent three seasons in La Liga playing for Granada, where he earned himself a great reputation. At the moment he still belongs to Granada, although he’s on loan at Benfica, where he’s made 16 appearances, scoring one goal.
