Daniel Carvajal has said winning the Club World Cup would be a great end to a great year for Real Madrid.
Los Blancos take part in the tournament in Morocco next week and aim to win their fourth piece of silverware in the last twelve months. On a glorious night in May, they won their 10th Champions League trophy, beating Atletico de Madrid 4-1.
They also lifted the Copa del Rey in April, beating Barcelona 2-1 in Valencia thanks to a Gareth Bale wonder goal. And they picked up the European Super Cup at the start of this campaign, seeing off Sevilla 2-0.
During a question and answer session on Twitter, the right back was asked about the upcoming tournament, to which he said he’d like to get his hands on the trophy.
“It’s a big motivation for me to be able to win a new competition. It’d be special to win it, but it won’t be easy. It would be a great end to the year though. We want to be able to lift the trophy and keep winning alongside it.
“My preferred opponent? The first game will always be a difficult one, no matter if it’s Cruz Azul or Western Sydney,” he stated.
