Los Blancos are preparing their first game in Copa del Rey against Cultural Leonesa, a rival from the Third Division of the Spanish football. Real Madrid shouldn’t have problems to solve the draw but they had bad experience in the past, including last year in Cádiz.
Due to the quality of the rival, it’s time for Zidane to make some changes in the squad and some players will have their opportunities to show their quality. For instance, Zizou confirmed that Casilla will be the goalkeeper in Copa del Rey. We have to see if the BBC will play or some other important footballers.
Apart from the game, Cristiano Ronaldo was the main issue in Zidane’s press conference before the Copa del Rey game. The Portuguese star missed several chances against Athletic Club and he was booed by Real Madrid supporters: “I don’t understand them but at the same time I tell you that I was also whistled. This can happen. The supporters are very demanding, Santiago Bernabéu is especial. Cristiano knows it and I’m not worried. If sometimes we hear boos neither… The most important thing is to continue with our challenge”.
Last time Cristiano Ronaldo scored at Bernabéu was against Sporting Portugal in the Champions League. In La Liga, he only scored against Osasuna despite he had several chances in the last game: “I’d rather he scores always two o three goals per game but I’m not worried because I know this will happen. Now he’s not taking the chances, but he’ll do it. Soon he will score. We have to be calm”.
Along with Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale are participating in all the games: “I have three genious and they are going to be very important for the team. The rest can play less but they are also important. There will be some players with more minutes than others. This is logic and I’m doing my job”, Zidane said in press conference.
