Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has hailed star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, labelling him a beast, and believes he can play at the highest level for many years to come.
The Los Blancos forward turned 31 on Friday – an age in which many consider footballer to be entering the autumn of their careers.
But Ronaldo continues to set all sorts of scoring records and rips defences to shreds across Spain on a weekly basis – and Zidane says his star man will have many more years at the top.
According to the Frenchman, it comes down to Ronaldo’s relentless desire and ambition combined with his incredible effort to look after himself off the pitch.
Talking to journalists about the Porugal captain, he commented: “I feel a certain admiration for Cristiano. I admire him for his goals and for everything he has achieved. I like his ambition. He is never satisfied with what he has done, he always wants more.”
And he added: “He is a super important player for me, for the team and for the fans.I retired at the age of 34, but Cristiano will play on longer. It’s not that I did not look after myself, but he takes a lot of care of his own body and is a beast physically.”
